Shuriyin, Kaito.
the quincy
the quincy
"Kept in the dark"
name: Shuriyin, Kaito.
age: 16
gender: Male
appearance: Kaito is someone that can stand out in the crowd quite well. For one he has a light shade of blue hair that is almost like the sky with it is somewhat cloudy. A mix of blue and gray that is very unnatural. The hair though is very neat even though he barely ever touch it. One of the great things about having short hair. The bangs only reaches to the end of his eyes while the front strands barely touch it. On the back it reaches halfway of his neck. The shade though changes through out the day as in the night it is almost like a light shade of purple. Yet when it is in the night, the hair looks almost like midnight blue due to the lack of light. His hair sometimes changes style and colors though as he is in drama but those are rare times.
The boy's eyes will always be narrowed. This might be due to the fact that he knew his parents are keeping something away from him and so he starts to get angry at them and eventually his eyes are stuck like that. The dark shade of blue is similar to his hair but only a tad darker that it is barely noticeable. In the night though, his eyes would stay the same color. In front of the pupils are a pair of glasses. In truth though he actually doesn't need them. The only reason why he wears them is so that people would think that his glasses are what made his eyes small and narrow instead of his anger.
His attires are always quite strange as they would tend to always have a breast pocket for his glasses. After all he doesn't need them and sometimes find them irritating so why not take them off? His clothes tend to be short sleeved but when it's cold he will take out a jacket, usually a dark color, along with a red scarf. He is quite short for his age though only being 5'2". Still he deals with it and actually finds it convenient as it is easier for him to blend in the crowd when he wants to get away from someone.
techniques: As of right now. None what so ever.
bow: He hasn't got his cross yet.
"Everyone wears some kind of mask. It's the world we live in."
personality: Kaito is someone who pretty much is very unnoticeable. If it wasn't for drama, people would probably don't even know that he exists. Always the quiet one, people would pass by him without even knowing. That is unless they were to bump into him. Even then though, he keeps quiet and just does his own business. he doesn't even wait for them to say sorry, or excuse me. He simply doesn't really care. After all silent is golden is it not? Well, it is for the boy as there are many times in life where he wants to press the mute button so that he can think for once. Especially when it comes to school where all he wants to do is just get good grades, red his book and practice his lines. Too bad beggars can't be choosers and he never gets any of the things that he wished for. If he did, he knew that he was dead though because the world can never just be quiet for one second.
Strangely though for someone who wants to get good grades, the boy never studies. Why? Well he has a good photographic memory. Not enough that he would memorize something with one glance, he has to apply it a few times to remember. Still, this makes life easy for him and it's the reason why he is in drama. He doesn't really enjoy the club much though and the only reason why he is in drama is because he doesn't really have anything else to do. It's a curse really but he doesn't care much. At least in drama, he can read his book in some quiet corners as people practice in pairs somewhere else. One of the great blessings of the club. Too bad it comes with a price though as he would sometimes have to dye his hair or change his attire because people tend to give him a part with big lines so that they don't have to memorize. He doesn't mind the lines but he hates it when eh has to dye his hair and his parents think that something is wrong with him.
His demeanor doesn't really have much to say for itself. Usually he would either look bored or sleepy. His expression never changes that is unless he is acting. the only times where he would show emotions were the times that they were fake. He is simply used to that idea and it doesn't bother him at all. It was just how he was and so he was perfectly fine with it. It is something that is normal for him even though to other people it is anything but normal. That is why many don't dare to get near him, it was either his eyes or his lack of emotions that just sent chills down their spine. One can't really blame them though as he actually not someone that many would consider sociable. Although the teachers try to get him to show some pride in his work along with his own thoughts but he never does. All his projects even his essays are simply informative, if he is ever n a debate he doesn't use opinions but rather facts and statistics to win.
One of his hobbies, yes he has hobbies which is quite strange for a boy like him, is to read books. He pretty much always have some kind of book in his hand in school so that he can just go into the world that the book creates. It's not that he hates reality,he is just bored of it. Nothing ever happens and he has no reason to interact with it. So instead he would always read his books alone and just relax. Not many people would do this but then again, some might say that it is debatable if the boy is even human. The reason for that though is another story.
Around crowds and strangers the boy is quiet. Absolutely quiet that he was pretty much like a walking corpse, only he can think for himself. He tends to avoid people over all though, especially those that are loud in anyway. Too bad that makes people want to be friends with him. Actually, some even make it a challenge for themselves to be friends with him while others make a joke out of it. Either way, it was to his displeasure and it makes him want to shut them up. Too bad he doesn't have the power to make people mute, that would be something that comes in handy a lot for the boy. Especially in this so called grand life that he has.
If that was how he acts around crowds, how does he act towards his parents? Well, one thing is for sure, it's a lot worse. He talks around his parents but it is obvious that he has hatred for them. Especially seeing how they always try to control his future. They have it all set up for him even, pass high school, go into collage, pass law school and be a lawyer. As much as the boy uses statistics and facts to win debates, he is not someone that would want to be a lawyer just because his parents tells him too. Yes, quite a rebel he is but only around them. There are times though, where he avoids them completely and not even care what they say about it. It's his life after all, not theirs.
Around his friends, well he doesn't have friends so no one really know how he acts around them. Although in truth he does have friends, their just not human friends. Yes, to make him even more abnormal then he already is, the boy can actually see spirits. Although he keeps this a secret. He doesn't know exactly how or why he is able to see them other than the fact that he can see them.
It's one of the things that he takes for granted. Most of the time though his friends would be gone the next day or after he helps them in their task. He doesn't really know much about them other than the fact that they need help before they can move on to wherever they go to. He tends to be very quiet around the spirits though but gentle compare to how he acts around everyone else. He tries his best to help and protect the spirits. His friendship with them usually only last a day though before they are gone. Even though it isn't visible, he is actually sad about it.
Due to the fact that he deals with spirits, he also deal with these monsters that apparently no one else can see. He doesn't know what they are other than the fact that they were pretty much monsters. Most of the times,he would run from these kinds of spirits until strange spirits in black robes come in and kill the monster. He never exactly were able to find out what the spirits in black robes are but he doesn't really care. All he knows it that they kill these monsters and that was good enough for him since whenever he wants to find out what they are, a part of him always tell hm that he would regret it. Call it intuition but it is usually right.
The boy does exhibit the strangest of traits. This isn't known to many people, including his own parents but he is actually an animal lover. He loves every kind of animal there is practically and is very interested in them. Secretly he has a cat in his room although no one knows about that other than him and the cat. He takes care of the cat and give it food everyday. Whenever his parents are out, he would take it out for a walk. He tends to play with it a lot even though he doesn't buy it any toys or else his parents would suspect something. After all, a pet is not something he should have right now as he should be focusing on laws right now.
Another strange trait is actually one of his weakness. He can not resist it when girls look eagerly at him. By eager he meant like a little kid and so he has a weakness for those to the point where they can pretty much bent him to their will. A pathetic weakness yes, even he hates it himself but he simply can't help it. They were young and still hidden from the world. He wants to make sure that they stay that way as long as they can which is why he lets them have their way with him. That is unless it is something that is dangerous and can actually kill him. Everyone has their limits after all.
Many people in his family see him as perfection because of his grades. At least the ones that don't know about the spirits that are around them. The reason why was because he had good grades, a person who can easily gain information and pretty much always on his best behavior around them. After all, in they see what he acts like around his parents, they would know that he is somewhat of a rebel as he doesn't like how they always try to control his life. Since no one wants to be a puppet, or at least Kaito doesn't want to be a puppet. For those who knows about spirits though, they look down on him as he is the direct descendant of the Ishida family and yet he can only see spirits. He doesn't even know how to use a bow yet where his ancestor would already be able to master it. This is why there are times when he can feel the double meaning sentences of those people even though he doesn't know why they act that way. At the same time though he doesn't care as he isn't close to any of them anyway.
Even though he has no quincy abilities, his aunts and uncles usually have him hone his marksmanship. Although instead of using a gun they give him a bow and arrow instead as it takes more focus. He usually able to land bulls eyes easily but that's only if there is little to no wind. This is due to the fact that since he is the direct descendant of Ishida, they have decided that it would be best if he would practice in his marksmanship at least if he can use his powers as a quincy.
history: December,5th, that was the date of Kaito's birth. He was like any other baby and cried the moment he came into this new world. He had no idea what was going on and due to the fear he kept on crying. Still thanks to the gentle touches of his mother he was able to slowly quiet down. Her touch was so soft and light that it had a calming effect on him. His father was the one that had actually helped his mother deliver him. Why? Well, the man was a doctor and his mother was a principal of an elementary school. The two worked as hard as they can to make sure that the procedure was safe.
Growing up though, he didn't have much interaction with his parents as they were busy doing their own jobs. Of course a baby couldn't take care of itself and so it was up to his nanny to take care of him. She was a caring old lady that had spoiled him quite a bit. She would always bake cookies for him and taught him school subjects so that he wouldn't have a hard time in school when the time comes for him. She was always kind to him and whenever he cried, she would try her best to get him to laugh. Although she never did do any funny faces, instead she would simply throw him up and down, gently. The woman had pass her prime after all.
Eventually though, at the age of ten he was able to take care of himself just fine. The nanny moved to her small hometown and retired with the money that she had earned over the years. At school, the kids would mainly try their best to avoid him as he was just so good at school subjects. They were scared that if they said one wrong thing or make a mistake in front of him, he would laugh at them as if they were the most pathetic thing on earth. In truth though, the boy would never do that but people always did have the worst interpretation.
There was one incident where a boy was actually brave enough to try to talk to him. Hayaku Minato, the two were in the same class but Minato was the strange one in the crowd. He would say that he saw spirits and things that weren't there. Yet he would always insist that he was right. Sure it might be his imaginary friends or something like that but the boy would always denied that. Either way, when he saw Kaito being quiet, he quickly rushed up to him and talked to him. He tried to convince the boy that there were spirits. Like everyone else, he didn't believe that it was true. There were no such thing or else everyone would be able to see. Yet, he found the idea intriguing, to be able to see spirits. Still he quickly dismissed it. That was the only time he had talked to the very strange boy.
Still the meeting had always affected him quite a lot. He found himself practically stalking the boy everywhere he went to see these signs of spirits. He soon met one but strangely it wasn't from stalking Minato. It was one of those days where his parents simply made him far too angry to go home but he had no where else to stay and no one to play with. So he would do what he always did, he read his books. During the time though, a little boy stared at him with his big golden orbs. He didn't understand what was going on and looked around to see everyone passing through the boy. Where was the boy's parents? Shouldn't they be worried? Are they looking for him right now? Did he run away too? As his mind processed this, the little boy grabbed his arm and started to lead him in the city. At first he tried to fight against it but soon, he gave in quite easily. He had nothing else to do anyway.
Eventually it lead him to a house to which the boy was yelling at one of the kids who were playing in the yard stating that it was his house. The boy asked Kaito to get the house back but the boy wasn't so sure on what to do. Even more though his mind became stunned when he noticed something. The kids didn't notice the boy was yelling at them to get off his lawn. How could that be though? It makes no complete sense, sure they can ignore it but kids don't tend to do that with other kids. At least if they do, it would be an obvious cold shoulder but that wasn't the case. Why? Curious, he told the boy that he would find out why the kids were playing at his lawn. He asked for the name which was Hanora Kyu. Quickly, he searched for the name to come up with a paper article. Kyu was actually dead, he had died four years before this. How could this be? Dead people don't come back to life!
Wait. That was when it hit him. Minato had stated that he can see the dead and no one believed him. It wasn't some imagination. He was just like the boy, he can see dead people too. How Long has he been able to do this? How many people have he interacted that were actually dead this whole time. Quickly, he printed the paper out and rushed toward the boy to give him the print out. That was a bad move though as it angered the boy. The chain that was attached to his chest was suddenly cut off and he became a monster. Due to shock and fear the boy had actually fainted from the site. It was simply too much for his psyche that his body fell onto the floor.
When he had woken up, he found himself in his parent's hospital. Apparently, someone found him on the ground. He didn't understood what happened at first. He only remembered a spirit, a monster and than blood. Remembering the red liquid he checked his body but there was no mark. What happened? How was it that he was unharmed. Slowly the memories pieced together and he remembered a strange looking person clad in a black robe with a sword. Was that the person that had saved him? That was when he wanted to learn more about this world that was hidden away from so many people. The world that apparently, only some people can see. That was when it hit him. How many people can see spirits? How many are hiding it? How did they gain these powers? How does it work? How many died because of those monsters. From that moment on, he pretty much threw away reality and tried to figure everything he can about the spirits because it was some excitement in his life.
Throughout the years, he interacted with more spirits but made sure to not reveal to them that they were dead or do anything to anger them. He didn't want to see the monster again but yet sometimes the appear from out of no where. There weren't much of them though so it wasn't so bad or anything like that. He didn't really care much as they would usually die the next day or two, most likely from the people in black robes, whoever they were. It still bothered him as none of the spirits knew at all. He hid the fact that he can see them unlike Minato though. He didn't want to end up like a boy as it couldn't be good especially with how people would always make fun of him. It was something that Kaito planned to avoid.
His life went on as normal, or at least as normal as it could be for him as he entered High School. The kids started to bother him and get him to talk, much to his annoyance. Even more reclusive around people than he was when he was still in elementary, he ignored the teachers and sometimes don't even come to class as there was no point. The people were they were just idiots anyway. The only time he comes to the class is at the end in order to get his homework and that was it. His parents are getting angry at him because of this and threatens to disown him but he doesn't care. They weren't really his parents anyway. Sure he might had forgave them when he was a kid but he wasn't a kid anymore. He wasn't naive anymore, he knew better than that now.
One day though, the news came to him, Minato was missing. The boy that had introduced him to the ideas of spirits had went missing. Why? He wanted to know and made it his goal to find out. After all, what if the same thing happens to him one day? He has to take precautions after all.
role-play sample:
From Gift of the Goddess
In the middle of the screams of the people as they rush around the cold icy snow, footprints left behind a trail for the creatures to chase them, a teenage was sitting on the roof. The survivors were still being hunted, the humans that had captured mother. His silver hair almost blend in with the snow as his green eyes reflected the people that were running. This was one of the remnant, well to be more exact this was Kadaj, one of Sephiroth's right hand man. After all they were brothers but that was not the real reason why. No, the real reason why was because of the fact that he was the man's little puppet. He hated that thought though. To think that he had to obey the man, the very same man that had failed mother so many times, lost to the black sheep three times, and even used his own brother. It was disgusting. The thought made his eyes narrowed at one of the survivors. Apparently it was a woman who seemed to be in her forties who was trying to sneak away. Heh, what a idiotic human. With a raised of his gloved hands, darkness spread around the woman and monsters came out. Each and every one of them gnawed on her. Seeing the blood though, a small smirk fell onto the remnant's lips.
People were trying to fend for themselves with whatever useless utensils that was in reach. One of the funniest sights for him though was a boy who was holding a wooden sword. How was that going to defeat monsters? That could barely hurt a human. Doesn't the boy know that death was imminent? A small chuckle came out of his lips. The boy was as good as dead no matter how one looked at it. Soon, blood was spilled from the boy and one to the once pure white snow. Seeing the people running away, the blood slowly poured from their body and hearing their screams made him laugh. This was almost like some kind of horror movie for him but that would be making it an understatement. This was far better than the movies with the obvious fake blood or idiotic actors. This was real! The fear, the blood, the screams the people, the monster, all of it was real! That was what made it so much fun for the sadistic male.
Soon though he heard something coming from the sky. His head raised up to stare at the snow-filled sky. In all of the white though he saw a small hint of gray that was moving. The WRO, those people must be coming. He scoffed at the sight though, he knew that it was time for him to work. He needed to spread as much blood and terror as possible after all. Since he had to spread the darkness, that was the only reason why he was here in the first place. Slowly, he stood up and drew his souba. His eyes, following the helicopter that was trying to land away from the monsters. Oh, now that was no fun at all.
Quickly, the male dash off to the flying vehicle. Once he made it there though he didn't recognize anyone at all. At least none of them seems to be important enough for him to recognize anyway. They were just people with guns who wants to be a hero or something for these humans. If only they knew though that heroes were always the ones to die young. With a leap he landed onto the snow. There seems to only be five of them. Strange, for some reason he had expected more. Maybe Yazzo and Loz were dealing with the rest? He wasn't entirely sure but at the same time he could care less anyway. With a quick hand motion, the shadow creatures appeared to attack the men. This wasn't going to take long.
"Ahhh!"
The sound of their terror was the signal for the battle to begin as they grabbed out their guns and tried to shoot the creatures. A smirk fell upon Kadaj's lips as she dash over and sliced one of the man's throat. Two deep cuts were on his neck were covered by blood were visible before he fell onto the soft snow. The creatures took out the other four. Normally though, he wouldn't take care of people this quickly. It would be far too boring that way but right now he didn't really want to be here. There was nothing truly interesting at all and even more was that things were starting to get less remotely interesting. No one that could provide a challenge showed up. Most of all though, he didn't want to be here because Sephiroth had ordered him to. He hated doing that man's dirty work but knew that he had to if he wanted to see mother again. If it wasn't for mother, he wouldn't even give a damn thing for that man. The remnant crossed his arms and stared at the people that were running. How much longer did he had to stay here? How much more orders will that man give out? When will he see mother again? When well mother kill Sephiroth for him? After all, Kadaj was a better son.
